Kumi Silva is Royster Distinguished Professor for Graduate Education, and is Associate Professor of Communication, Adjunct Associate Professor in Women’s and Gender Studies, and Affiliate Faculty in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. Her interdisciplinary research broadly focuses on cultural politics and cultural theory. She is the author of Brown Threat: Identification in the Security State (University of Minnesota Press) and co-editor of Feminist Erasures: Challenging Backlash Culture (Palgrave UK) and of Migration, Identity, and Belonging: Defining Borders and Boundaries of the Homeland (Routledge).
